Anyone who is going to be in Melbourne over the next few months and wants to instantly tap into their inner hipster should head straight for the National Gallery of Victoria. Here you’ll find an exhibition called Melbourne Now, which celebrates all things Melbourne through several forms of art and expression.
WHAT IT IS…
In the National Gallery of Victoria there are, of course, works from Tom Roberts, Wu Zhen, and some guy called Picasso. However, we suggest that you skip all that for now and take in the artwork by over 300 local artists who are channeling their city through mediums like architecture, design, performance, and good old fashioned art.
Don’t be surprised if you get a flash mob choir suddenly erupt around you. If you do – take a picture and tag it with #urbanadventures!
WHEN IT IS…
Melbourne Now is running from 22nd November 2013 until 23rd March 2014. The exhibition has even got the second coolest app in Melbourne (the first being this one) available for download so you don’t miss a thing.
If you want to find out more about Melbourne Now, take a look at their website. Enjoy!
