“I LOVED this tour! I was honestly a bit worried since group tours can be crowded and cheesy but this was the total opposite. Our guide, Nikki, was incredible and so knowledgeable about the history of immigration in New York. She had such a great positive attitude and a smile on her face throughout the whole 3 hour tour.”
Meet the Urban Adventures Guide of the Year for 2015! If you’ve had Nikki as your guide, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that she’s our top guide in the world – her knowledge, passion, and enthusiasm are seemingly endless. A fourth generation New Yorker, Nikki is about as New York you can get. She even lives in the house that her great-grandmother bought, and where her grandfather and mother were raised.
Nikki’s favourite thing about New York is the diversity, “no matter what your interests, or style, or heritage, guaranteed you can find other people who are into the same. Everyone’s unique here, yet no one’s ever isolated which is kind of amazing”.
Nikki has been a tour guide since 2010, and has been working with New York Urban Adventures since 2014. When she’s not sharing her love of NYC with locals and visitors alike, you can find Nikki out exploring the city, dragging friends to restaurants in new neighbourhoods, at the dog park with her Husky/German-Shepherd, or seeking out hidden things she’s read about, like an amazing Tibetan momo shop in the back of a cell phone store.
In case it isn’t already apparent, Nikki has a wealth of knowledge on NYC, and is the author of some of our most popular New York blog posts (like Where to Pee in NYC!), which we highly recommend you check out.
